I have had my 2005 New Beetle for 2 years. About a week after I drove it my headlights burned out starting with the left then right. This went on for over 6 months. My ABS light comes on all the time and the air bag sensor has been on for 6 months. I live in Salisbury NC and need to find an authorized service center. hili, here are some ideas: - think of it as a feature not a bug. some people pay extra to have the vehicle beep beep beep when in reverse. :| - emergency brake could be misadjusted. if you leave the e-brake on purposely/a-little, does that eliminate the brake squeak. - a possible workaround is to back the car into the garage for its overnight rest. a possible downside ... True on the break down & buying a TDI. I don't know if I would take the chance of getting by the DMV. Selling your Passat TDI is easier than you think. My 2005 passet TDI has had the shudder since it was new. The dealer has installed the EGR gasket with the small hole, made NO difference. I have 15,000 miles on the TDI and my wife and I love the wagon but the shudder at 30-40 mph steady speed is most aggravating. I have tried Amsoil diesel additive for TDI cars, no change. I have a 2005 Beetle and after 2 months the airbag malfunction light also came on. The dealer had to "update" the system due to an old software version with the airbags. I would think that they would update the software before putting them on the lot to sell. I have had no problem with the airbag issue since. I have had the beetle in the shop now 5 times in the last 4 months!!! ... Read More...
