VW Jetta Basic Maintenance Questions (Oil changes, fluids, etc.)

Re: resetting maintenance reminder (wrench) 2008 jetta [tmorriss]

The answer to your question is the same as most of the answers about VWs ---> VagCom If you had botherd to use the SEARCH button - you would have already discoverd this. BTW - Many independent mechanics use VagCom in their shop because it is as good or BETTER than the factory computer diagnostic tool! Read More...

resetting maintenance reminder (wrench) 2008 jetta

Does anyone know how to reset the maintenance reminder that comes on at 5000 miles on a 2008 Jetta 2.5? The owners manual only says it has to be reset. Doesn't say how. It says something to the effect 'if you have your oil changed by a dealer, they reset the reminder. if you have you oil set by a non authorized VW service center, have your VW dealer reset the reminder' ... Volkswagen Jetta Brakes and Rotors

can't spell vaginal discharge wildpileoshit without VW

Dear Johnnytoobad, welcome to my world and to our club. You're not in El Paso are you? Don't worry it's just your daughter driving around with no brakes did the dealer specify the "outside influences", sounds like the old blame game they gave me telling me it was my fault that the brakes burned out to metal on metal in 4200 miles on a brand new 2008 jetta b/c I sucked ... Volkswagen Jetta Lease Questions

Re: 2008 Jetta S [simmons4102]

Hi simmons4102. Volkswagen Credit's current buy rate lease money factor and residual value for a 36 month lease of a 2008 Jetta S with 15,000 miles per year are .00111 and 55%, respectively. I believe that 15,000 miles per year is the highest mileage allowance that VW Credit publishes residual values for. If you need to drive more than this, you will have to purchase ... Read More...

Volkswagen Jetta Prices Paid and Buying Experience

Re: 2008 wolfsburg jetta [steven39]

If you buy the 09 you can take the money you would normally pay for maint and purchase an extended warranty. I know it wouldn't cover all the cost of it but based on everything I've read on these forums and my nephew who is a VW tech, it wouldn't be a bad idea to buy an extended warranty on an 08 as well. Volkswagen Jetta Brakes and Rotors

to alcu77

Thank you very much for your post. very helpful I'm curious if you have any specific comments for my case with no brakes at 4200 miles, and how you, as a brake engineer, might have approached things with my dealer. their assertion to me was basically so preposterous that I didn't even know how to argue it...certainly didn't do it right b/c I ended up having to go off ... Volkswagen Jetta Prices Paid and Buying Experience

My experience in leasing a Jetta S

I just perfected a lease transaction this weekend for a 2008 Jetta S with manual transmission an cold weather package + mats. I used Edmunds.com to send RFQs to about five dealerships and I had emails from all of them. They are not usually giving you the quote though, they want you to go and meet their salespeople but I did have two that quoted me the invoice price. ... Read More...
