Review
Jetta will run forever never had anything really wrong with it A few typical things i.e. alternator but nothing like engine/transmission problems of any kind. Got factory stats w/ blown head gasket Not easy to find a good mechanic when rarely needed had it for 3yrs 1st time its had to go to the shop Im the 2nd owner & this is the 1st time other than oil changes its had to be in the shop w/180k Not sure if thats a record Interior/ body are good quality build. Cant beat never less than 30mpg & factory stats @ 12yrs quite an achievement, built in Mex but 99% of parts are from Germany Never, left stranded, ever; not expected to happen

Hard to say, love the car. VW in my genetic code man, really fun to drive
Suggested Improvements
Should have put the antenna on the roof like the GLI, Ive not seen a Jetta (older Jetta) with one left on hood. Possible VR6 option with a 6spd would make it a real bad ass.

Review
The gas milage is great. Quite roomy with three kids. No power. What happened to German quality. This edition was not built in Germany. The transmission is smaller than my 87'. Although they are both 1.8 liters. The 87' Wolvesburg edition drove better because of the better and bigger trany. I still love VW's. I have a 96. Although I would rather take another 87' Wolvesburg. Bring back the style, comfort, simplicity, better gas mileage and MADE IN GERMANY not US.

Review
My car lives at the mechanic's every other week. The motor is great, but everything else falls apart. I've replaced every other thing, and am waiting to see what's going to break next....

Review
i bought this car about 2 years ago and i will be the first to admit that is has had its fair share of problems. although that was probably because of all the miles on it. even though the problems, i would reccomend this car to anyone, it has made me love to drive (even in traffic). having this car has been an extreme amount of fun.

Review
This car gets unbelievable gas mileage. The door handles and belts have given me a little trouble, but are easily fixed. I have a turbo in mine, and it's faster than an average four cylendar. It's hard to find pieces to sup this car up, but be creative. All in all, this car ROCKS!

Suggested Improvements
The door handles are crap, and the AC seems to give a lot of people problems. The different colored detailing and bumpers obstruct the line of the car.

Review
I recently bought a 1992 Jetta GL, automatic. It is so easy to drive and very relaxing. The only problem I have had with it is a single spark plug lead. We have had three offers for it so far, most of them double or triple the price we paid for it.

The automatic gearbox is a dream.
Suggested Improvements
The 1.8 litre engine could do with a bit more power.

This is a great base for tuning on the VW platform....there are hundreds of products for customization, and tuning through the web, and in localized shops...if you are looking at one in decent condition....I tell you to buy it! Legend

Quick engine, that is easily, and inexpensively upgradeable, and one of the best stock suspensions on the market...

I wish it was equipped with just an inch or two more legroom....I am 6'2, and on longer trips I find it will cramp my legs...If i was only 6'0 it would be just fine.

10 years and going, this car has NEVER left me on the road stranded. Never. Provided there is good maintenance, the car can run forever.

With 300 miles to the tank of gas who could complain. besides basic maintenace two the car it will get you from point A to B without any problems.
