Toyota Highlander Real World MPG

Re: Toyota Highlander: MPG - Real World Numbers [steve_]

2007 FWD 4 cyl with a remote starter! Odometer = 12,400 Long term mpg average = 18.88 High MPG = 27.93 Low MPG = 11.93 - result of 20 F below temps, lots of idling and heavy use of the remote starter Most driving is in-town with the summer average at 19-21 mpg and winter average at 14-17 mpg. Highway mpg is 23 to 28 depending on the wind direction, wind speed and road speed ... Read More...

Re: Math? [citivas]

I agree. If you don't drive a lot of city miles a year, Hybrids are just not worth much extra. Most people can talk themselves into anything they really want ot buy - logic be damned. Logic is used to justify their emotionally-tinged decisions. It is fairly damning of Toyota to not offer an increased residual on a lease. It will be interesting how this may change in ... 2009 Honda Pilot vs. 2008 Mazda CX-9 vs. 2008 Toyota Highlander

Re: August sales [ceric]

That's not bad at all for the CX-9. If you compare sales as opposed to 2007, the CX-9 does very well in terms of not dropping off sharply month after month. And those 3000 plus CX-9 sales make up a substantial percentage of total Mazda sales--and total Mazda sales have never been anywhere near Honda and Toyota. So Mazda has to be happy with the numbers, probably not ... Read More...

Highlander Thread - Update Used 2007 highlander

I dont know why it is dead but the prices here in Austin are pretty much stable. The 2007 all wheel drive highlander with 33K miles is still $17977 at Maund Toyota on 183. Read More...

2008 Toyota Highlander Lease

Thought I would post our experience from the Toyota dealer north of Houston, TX. They are part of the Gulf Coast Toyota group. I am a "Tier 1" customer they tell me, having bought 2 cars over the past 3 years via my corporate "discounted" deal. I leased this one back in Dec 2007. This is my first leasing experience with Toyota, so I thought I would pass it along. I follow ... Read More...

2009 Honda Pilot vs. 2008 Mazda CX-9 vs. 2008 Toyota Highlander

Re: sales figures [ceric]

Both Pilot and Highlander were selling at nearly 13,000/month July last year. So, both dropped nearly 50% compared with last year's sales figures. Toyota's press release has the following numbers for the Highlander: July 2008: 6,763 July 2007: 8,858 DSR Change: -29.5% Source: http://pressroom.toyota.com/Releases/View?id=TYT2008080117514 A 30% drop ... Re: sales figures [ceric]

Sales figures of July/2008 Honda Pilot: 7486 Toyota Highlander: 6763 (including Hybrid) Mazda CX9: 1965 (others, competiting) GM Lambdas (triplet only): 11,600 (combined) Acura MDX: 3477 This may seem like CX9 is selling poorly, when in fact it holds steady compared with 2007. Both Pilot and Highlander were selling at nearly 13,000/month July last year. ... Read More...

Re: CR [cx7lover]

That's right, you can get CX-9s at invoice if you haggle a little. Although June 2008 Highlander sales were way below that of June 2007 (something like 30% less), so maybe Toyota dealers might be getting desperate. Read More...

Re: No Bias [ch1rravu]

Remember between 2007 to 2008 the curb weight of the Highlander increased close to 400 lbs. This may have made a V4 not a viable option. At least it seems like Toyota thought so. In any case, it is my personal opinion. I agree that some folks don't necessarily need to haul 7 all the time, but some may need to. So, it still comes down to individual needs. "Highlander beat ...
