Regarding struts

I have a 2005 toyota highlander 6 cylinder and I am experiencing alot of body roll when making turns. Recommendation from my tire guy is that I replace my original equipment with after market equipment such as monroe sensamatic struts. There are two sensors, primarily, that might be at fault, the OAT sensor and the IAT sensor. If either of these should go open circuit the A/C would probably switch to HEAT. An open OAT, Outside Air Temperature sensor, would indicate to the system that it is EXTREMELY COLD outside. An open IAT, Interior Air Temperature sensor, would indicate that the cabin is TOO ... I am seeing some fluid in my 2005 at 43K miles. Would you have a link or info about the TSB RE; this. I just shelled out 2600K for something that was no longer under warrannty for the 36K warranty. Overall its been reliable, but the Subaru I had before wwent 188K with very little going wrong so this is not what I expected being a Toyota. thanks Read More...

Although I'm no expert but I had this problem for a very longtime. My friend just fixed it. He took out the panel where the radio and air sit. Unscrewed the side and opened the box where the circuit is. There is a wire that broke. You could immediately see the broken piece. He replaced the wire by saughter it back together. we bought our 2005 Highlander (2WD V6 w/3rd row) in August 2005 from City Toyota in Daly City and were satisfied with the experience. Got an internet quote, price was good, they actually had two of the type of vehicle we wanted in the lot when we got there (no bait/switch), test drove one, and bought it (paid by check, no financing). I've got an 05 HL also and what I was told at the service center is that there is a button (blends in with the dash) down under the steering column. I know you have to push it in and hold, but I don't know for how long or whether the car has to be running. (New at this site. Don't know why the attached picture is showing but it's not mine.) My 82 year old mother took her 2005 highlander in for a 30k mile service. the total bill was $790.76! I think she got ripped off by Bev Smith Toyota in Ft Pierce Florida. In addition to normal service they flushed the brake,transmission and power steering fluids! They called her and said the fluids looked dirty and should be changed? Does this seem excessive?
