Extremely Dissatisfied
Vehicle
2005 Toyota Highlander Limited AWD 4dr SUV w/3rd Row (3.3L 6cyl 5A)
Review
I have owned the limited for less than 3 years and have had several problems with the sunroof. Had to be totally replaced in 11/2006 due to operational problems. Now, in 12/2007 unbelievably have the same problems as well as leaks in track causing condensation, electrical, and requiring replacement again! Only Toyota will not replace again and admit poor workmanship or defective parts due to expired warranty. Cost a whopping $2500. for a sunroof used in New England for merely 4 months/year. Am wheeling this disappontment and buying a lexus or murano! Also, acceleration is hesitant, problems with transmission. Don't waste your $.
Favorite Features
storage, radio controls on steering wheel
Suggested Improvements
better service for problems clearly documented in history. better transmission

Not what I expected from Toyota
Vehicle
2005 Toyota Highlander Limited AWD 4dr SUV w/3rd Row (3.3L 6cyl 5A)
Review
About the only things I like about my Highlander is the reliability and it drives pretty good for an SUV. Others hit themajor disappointments starting with the poor MPG about 17 summer & 14 winter. Tires were replaced at 21,000 miles. Transmission is jerky if you step on the gas and then let off. Paint does scratch very easy (just rubbing finger on paint). The best part is while getting an oil change at the same dealer it was purchased from (about 1 year old) I asked how much I could get for trade-in on a new Hybrid. After review (on my almost as good as new condition vehicle) they offered $12,400 less than what I paid one year previously. What a big disappointment.
Favorite Features
3rd-row seats for small kids.
Suggested Improvements
Better tires, paint quality. Improve the heated seats.

Good Car
Vehicle
2005 Toyota Highlander Fwd 4dr SUV (3.3L 6cyl 5A)
Review
I've had this car two years and it's been great. Only problem is I recently looked into selling it. It appraised for 13000 less than i bought it for only two years later. Believe it or not my Ford actually held it's value better than that. That's definitely not what i expected!
Favorite Features
Great handling and nice sound system
Suggested Improvements
The original tires only lasted 25000 miles. Depreciated faster than i expected.

This was my first new car that I purchased. I absolutely love it! I have never taken it to the dealership (other than service of course) and I do not have one complaint. I recommend this vehicle to anyone looking to purchase a new or used car. Enjoy it as much as I have so far.
Favorite Features
Smooth ride, very comfortable, great look, gas efficient for this size vehicle.
Suggested Improvements
None! Very satisfied.

Quality gone bye bye.

The car has had noises since it was bought. Brake muffler on master cylinder installed wrong, vibration on acceleration. Took 3 days to find problem. Recall on retainer clip for floor mats. Recently steering makes clicking and felt like parts are loose. Car went in twice and took 10 days to fix. Steering shaft had to be replaced it was defective. Rear doors rattle when car is warm. Two trips to find problem. This is the 5th toyota I have owned. Never had these type of things happen on the others. So much for toyota quality when put together.
Favorite Features
Rides smooth, handles well.
Suggested Improvements

Major Disappointment
Vehicle
2005 Toyota Highlander AWD 4dr SUV w/3rd Row (3.3L 6cyl 5A)
Review
Five speed transmission is rather rough. First gear is especially useless - you could push the car faster off the line. Handling is mediocre at best, as the car seems heavy and clumsy. Also, like a car equipped with an old fashioned carburetor, it often seems to hesitate and stumble. Gas mileage has been a major disappointment. As one other reviewer noted, the paint can be scratched with a fingernail. Of the three Toyotas I have owned, this is the first one that will be traded after only three years. Seems very overpriced for what you get, so it will be interesting to see what the trade-in value will be.
Favorite Features
Interior is fairly comfortable, although the seats could be better.
Suggested Improvements
Toyota needs a better AWD system. Living in the snowbelt, it annoys me to have to push a button to lock in traction that is not as good as what was automatic on my old Forester.

Review
This is the greatest vehicle that I have owned. Its fun to drive, very comfortable and I would buy another in a heartbeat. I have had several different vehicles including 3 SUVs and I love this one the best. Having the 3rd row is like a bonus. We don't use it much but it is nice to know its there if we need it.
Favorite Features
Everything - I love my truck.

Fit and finish overall. I love the auto up driver's window, really handy. The V-6 is awesome too, great on gas and power. The 2nd and third seats easily fold away.
Suggested Improvements
Make the outside temperature read standard.
