2004 Toyota Highlander Limited - Fog Light Lenses
Re: 2004 Toyota Highlander Limited - Fog Light Lenses [msagro]
Well.... y'all "made me look". I've got a 2003 HL, bought new, and I live on a gravel road. Almost 90,000 miles on the car so far. No cracks or any other defects in the fog lights. We don't use them all the time, but they've had sufficient use that if heat were the problem, it'd show. So did they do something different in the plastic lenses for 2004? and "thanks" to msagro ... Toyota Highlander 2003 Transmission problems
I have a 2003 Toyota Highlander 4WD and I have serious problems with the transmission. When I shift from Park to Revere it does not turn it on, it just goes to neutral. Also, when driving, it tries to shift but it just kicks out and the car won't accelerate. Please help. I tried everything, replaced the PCM, took apart and put back the transmission and found no problems ... Read More...

Re: CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ON AT 62K ON A 2003 HIGHLANDER [akalady_2000]
This is probably too late but might be of help as a "cost" guide. I had my 02 sensor replaced not by a Toyota dealership as they add too much charges on it (check-damage fee, parts + $240/hr labor with 2 hrs. minimum). I took it instead to a trusted small time mechanic where I paid around $325 (had only 1 sensor replaced). As far as calling Toyota, I'm not sure it's worth ... Read More...
Re: CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ON AT 62K ON A 2003 HIGHLANDER [akalady_2000]
Please see message 4360 and related posts in the HL Maintenance and Repair forum re O2 sensor replacement. $800 is way too high for the precat O2 sensors, I don't know about the postcat O2 sensor. Toyota calls the precat O2 sensors AFR sensors, same thing. If you've read through the posts on this forum, you'll know that driving for a year with a CEL without knowing ... Read More...
Re: CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ON AT 62K ON A 2003 HIGHLANDER [angieth]
I'm so glad to find out it's not just me. My 2003 Toyota Highlander AWD, has 68K, and my check engine light has been on for a year and I have been told there are two possible reasons, the O2 sensor or the fuel ratio sensor. Based on the posts that I have read, I am leaning towards the O2 sensor as being the problem. How do we bring this to the attention of Toyota so that they ... Read More...
Re: CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ON AT 62K ON A 2003 HIGHLANDER [bikeman3]
Bikeman3 : Good for you -- Wish I can say the same thing. Mine is also a V6 which gives me around 21-22 with the crazy DC traffic. And like you, also planned to hang on to it until it's last breath.. I just fear that it'll be closer than what I want. Thanks for the info. Ashley Dee: I've always loved Toyota and considers it to be the best.. I just now feel betrayed. Until then, ... Read More...
CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ON AT 62K ON A 2003 HIGHLANDER
Is Toyota now downgrading its quality??? Very happy with mine until recently at my 60K(done @ 62K) check. Replaced worn front pads and resurfaced machine rotors, transpan replcmnt because of seapage, replaced weak battery, performed total fuel system service...in addition to the 60k check. The dealership got $1,100.00 from me just that day. Now, 2 wks after, ... Read More...
check engine light on
I have a 2003 Toyota Highlander which I recently had a 60000 mile service. A few days later my check engine light came on. I took it to an auto parts store which performed a simple diagnostics test and told me it was something with the emissions. He suggested my gas cap was not tight, he reset it, that lasted 2 days and it came on again. Someone else suggested a bad EPR ... Read More...
