The top-line Cayenne Turbo is frighteningly quick, while the more sedate standard V6 is reasonably fuel-efficient. Very good handling and braking can be further enhanced with an extrmemly effective active stabilizer bar system (PDCC) that raises handling a bit further while improving ride.
Seat comfort and space are good, but not spectacular. The driving position, however, is excellent. The optional PDCC active stabilizer bar system improves ride by decoupling the stabilizer bars when driving straight to reduce jostling motions, a typical side effect of perfomance-tuned suspensions.
There are a lot of available features, and many of them work well, but the most oft-used stereo and HVAC controls are overwrought and take the driver's concentration to locate and operate. Cargo space isn't great either, as the Cayenne is not as big inside as it appears from outside.
Panel fitments, gaps, material choices, finish -- these aspects of the Cayenne are without fault. The styling itself is good, and plays off of Porsche heritage, but that sleekness does limit the function somewhat.
Image Enhancer
While the Cayenne doesn't attract knowing stares like a red 911 would, it still earns points when its name is dropped at parties.
High Performer
Like any other Porsches, the Cayenne will put a grin on your face on twisty paved roads.
Luxurious
The interior of the Cayenne has a premium look and feel and can be kitted-out with a plethora of premium options.
Off-Road Ready
Unlike any other Porsche, it's pretty handy on rocky trails and sand washes.
