2006 Mitsubishi Galant SE 4dr Sedan (2.4L 4cyl 4A)

Review

I bought this car with 3,000 test drive miles on it. It was brand new. Almost a year later - it still drives like new. Quick off the line, quick stops, it hugs the road through cornering. It has the look and feel of a European driving machine. "Poor man's BMW" is what I call it.

Favorite Features

4 wheel disc brakes. Leather interior Sun roof Power plant/transmission combo Stiff ride. You feel everything.

Suggested Improvements

Bigger truck opening, and bigger trunk. Upgrade the center piece of the steering wheel. It's leather wrapped but the center is plastic. Yuck. Dual exhaust and standard clear tails would give it a nicer stance. Smaller wheel gab. Projector headlamps standard.

Awesome Car

Review

The Galant is a very under-rated sedan. It handles great, even with the 4 cyl. has plenty of power when needed and can get great gas mileage. It handles very well and looks awesome. It is very unique, not many people drive them. Despite its EPA rating being lower than other sedans, I still manage to get 25-26 mpg by driving it in town. The Galant is an awesome car. Even after two and a half years it feels new. The resale value isn't very good, but that does mean a used one would be a lot cheaper than a new one and still a great ride.

Favorite Features

The center console has an awesome modern feel and beautiful blue lighting at night. The material has a wonderful textured feel. My wife laughs at me since I love the feel of it. Awesome fuel economy and power.

Suggested Improvements

I sit very upright, so I could use a little more headroom. The front looks awesome, but the back looks just OK, it doesn't seem to match. That has been fixed for 2009 though!

Back slip problem

This is my second Galant 1st was 2003 just purchased 2006. Love the improvements made to the newer model, but my 2006 backslips when on an incline. Brought back to the dealer and was told thats just how the car is and it was because the rpm weren't as high as the 2003 model.

GTS Fan

Really like this GTS model-fun to drive, smooth ride after some new tires were put on and handles great for a sedan. Interior is put together well and very comfortable-best Mitsu I've had.

Engine, interior, sound system, smooth ride.

Suggested Improvements

Factory Goodyear tire were disappointing - didn't even work in the rain. Paint system needs to be reviewed -t his is the second Mitsu I've owned and the Outlander I had before this had thin clear coat too - scratches easily.

Sexy Red Galant

I purchased a 2006 Black Mitsubishi Galant ES in January. The car was very nice but was lacking something. One month after I purchased the 2006 Galant ES, Mitsubishi introduced the 2006 Special Edition Galant. A beautiful car, everything I wanted in the Galant: style, substance, and leather seats. The SE was the type of car I was supposed to have, so I got. Love every minute of it.

Leather seats, automatic climate control, heads up display.

A Very Decent Automobile!

Review

This was my second purchase of a Mitsubishi Galant GTS and probably my last. Mitsubishi has poor quality control as both vehicles had major factory defects at under 1,000 miles. The car does handle and drive very well, though the engine does give you some wallop when you accelerate.

Favorite Features

The exterior Red Pearl color is AWESOME!

Better quality control at the factory level.

A Great Buy

Review

This is my second Galant and I really like the improvements over the 2001 model. The seating is more comfortable and the car has lots of power for a 4-cylinder. The controls are well placed and convenient. The bold Mitsubishi design is a welcome change from the mediocre designs of the competition.

Favorite Features

The interior room is very spacious. Along with the bold design, it really adds to the value of the vehicle. The 60,000 mile warranty is a big bonus too!

Suggested Improvements

The powerful engine can be a bit loud at times. A bit of sound dampening in the cabin would be a good improvement.

New Car, Lovin' It

The 2006 Mitsubishi Galant is a breath of fresh air. It is comfortable, spacious, fun to drive, has more pick up than I had anticcipated, has great looks, and gets good gas mileage. It is a family car with a sporty feel.

I like the the autostart. It is the first time that I have ever had a car with it.

This is my fourth Galant and this is the best of them all. I like the interior with the information center. The exterior is very nice as well. I really like the tail lights.

Don't Overlook This Car

Review

I don't see many of them on the road. The Galant is very under appreciated. It is every bit as good, and in some cases better than an Altima, Camry, or Accord. I think it looks better too, with an edgy, more modern styling, especially with the SE tail lights and spoiler. This car looks smaller on the outside than it really is on the inside. I'm 6'4" and I have plenty of head room and leg room. The interior has a very clean, modern look and the blue lighting is unique. The hidden radio controls on the back side of the steering wheel keep everything looking neat and uncluttered. Its four cylinder engine has more than enough power to move this car. I'm getting 25 mpg in town, over 30 mph highway.

Favorite Features

This car has great styling - you will definitely stand out from the crowd. I really like the layout of the auto climate control and the radio. The warranty is unbeatable. The car just feels very solid as soon as you close the doors.

Suggested Improvements

The doors should lock automatically. Add folding side mirrors. The headlamps are auto-off, but they should also be auto-on. Add a fifth gear to the automatic transmission.
