Keep in mind the new 2009 ML350 has been agressively restyled, the body style is the same but there are a few facelifts and equipment changes on the 2009. The value of a 2008 ML350 after 36 mos is 47% and at 48 mos is 39% based on residual values from Mercedes-Benz Financial. On a new 2009 ML350 the value at 36 mos is 48% an at 48 mos is 42%. I saved over $7,000 off MSRP on a new 2008 ML-320CDI at Mercedes-Benz of Lynnwood. The only bad part is since they have increased the factory incentives on 2008 models, they no longer offer the special financing rates. Hi I faced a similar decision recently and went with the 2008 X5 (w 3rd row seats) after owning the RX300 for 8 years. The previous generation RX (Japanese made) was incredibly reliable - not a single problem in 88,000 miles and had adequate space for family with 3 kids and dog. I currently drive a 2008 ML320CDI and in terms of fuel economy it performs very well in my opinion. The figures of 18/24 are pretty accurate, though it really depends on your driving. After buying the car in December I took it on a road trip to New York where I got about 24.3mpg max even though I drove 80mph average but was very soft on the pedal. However, about 2 weeks ... Edition 10 is a limited 10 anniversary edition ML, only available in the 350. There are only 1000 of them being made for the US and can be bought in only Artic white or Obsidian black. They feature some unqiue touches etc along with a nice set of options.
