Review
The CDI has become r fave car vs 300 hp CLK V8 coupe and ML SUV Roomy, comfortable almost 2 ton panzer should be safer in collision as mass & room inside to decelerate vitals before contacting int. surfaces. Get heated seats - great for sore back & xenons really lite your way. Trip computer reads 32.0 mpg 4 the last 16457 miles! I never reset it, but they do reset at the various required MB services (battery disconnected?) Torque is incredible, this is a 5 sp auto with inline 6 turbo, a bit of lag, but u get used to it. If you are looking for a diesel for your own homemade biofuel, get inline 6 as unlike the new V6 diesel (2007 and up) the MB mech says inline can run on it with mods. Has been very reliable
Favorite Features
Fold down rear seat option turns huge trunk to cavern, diesel pwr vs mpg, added black trunk spoiler to contrast with silver color and tie into black glass panoramic roof, got rid of hood gunsite for flat MB coupe emblem, and changed out chrome front grille for less grandpa look.
Suggested Improvements
Center armrest uncomfortable, speed control stalk easily confused with turn signal/flash to pass stalk, sunshades need pullout extension for side window use, twin cupholder in center console useless if use for arm rest, nav needs download capability from Teleaid for on the road updates

I love it!

2006 Mercedes-Benz E-Class E350 4MATIC 4dr Sedan AWD (3.5L 6cyl 5A)
Review
I love my E 350 Benz! It's not just a car, it's an experience...every day! I look forward to the time I spend in it as it lends an escape to comfort. And when you're talking about performance...as far as I'm concerned the "E" stands for excellence!
Favorite Features
With so many great features it's hard to pinpoint my favorite. Cruise control at a tap, the heated seats, the stereo system and of course the quick response from the excelerator. Mighty fine!
Suggested Improvements
I think a reading light in the back seat would be nice. Heated seats in the year would also be an added comfort!

Review
First and last Mercedes. In less than 2 years of ownership car had many major problems. AWD had to be repaired. Power Steering repaired, intermittent wiper replacement. At 25,000 mile service (which cost $600) was told tires were wearing and would need to be replaced soon! The transmission is sluggish .. going uphill it doesn't shift properly. Fairly noisy drive. Handling is good and interior comfortable. Trunk size is also good. AWD (when working) is great on icy roads. Overall will go back to BMW.

Family Wagon that's fun to drive!
Vehicle
2006 Mercedes-Benz E-Class E500 4MATIC 4dr Wagon AWD (5.0L 8cyl 5A)
Review
My MB E500 wagon is the first Mercedes that I have owned and I am in love with it after driving it for just over a year. I spend a lot of time driving my children around and it makes a difference to have such a comfortable interior. I live in Minnesota and my 4Matic drives great in the snow! I've had just two problems: 1.A faulty transfer case which was replaced and fully covered under the warranty and 2. Poor tire wear which was also a warranty item and the tires were replaced.
Favorite Features
The comfortable heated seats!
Suggested Improvements
More cupholders for the back seat.

2006 Mercedes-Benz E-Class E320 CDI 4dr Sedan (3.2L 6cyl Turbodiesel 5A)
Review
I've put 28000 miles on my CDI asnd like it more than ever. Fast. Agile, Outstanding mpg's. Very comfortable and feels safe to be in. The car is amazingly handy in the city - it has a very tight turning cirsle and maneuvers beautifully in tight quarters.
Favorite Features
Power and handling. Happy to drive it and to be seen in it.
Suggested Improvements
I wish it had a dashboard display indicating what gear I am actually in - rather than just the gear selected.

Review
This is my first Mercedes and it is everything I had expected and then some. The car is a pure pleasure to drive, fuel mileage is great, interior is comfortable, and the straight 6 cast iron engine should last for many miles.
Favorite Features
Diesel engine.
Suggested Improvements
None.
The Last Days of Mercedes
Vehicle
2006 Mercedes-Benz E-Class E350 4dr Sedan (3.5L 6cyl 7A)
Review
The E350 is chintzy. It manfiests the dreadful consequences of the abominable decision MB made in the early 1990's consciously to debase the quality of the fine automobiles on whose splendid engineering and construction MB's century-old reputation had been built. Those of us who knew the quality that once epitomized MB can tell the difference with but a moment's inpsection. The car has 2 batteries to support needless electronic junk; one battery has already failed. There is a bicycle spare tire. The barely used radio produces an echo sounding like crows cawing in the background. Just touching the "bumper" to a sleeping cat can cost $300. The Mercedes Benz we knew belongs to the ages.
Favorite Features
The E350 does have a spirited engine, but all that means is attaining 19 mpg with a tiny car. There's really nothing about it I like save for the possibility of assigning the balance of the lease to some poor devil who never drove a W116, 126 or 140 and doesn't know what MB really once was.
Suggested Improvements
Go back to building cars such as the W- 140 with the appointments that were the hallmarks of the S350D, 300SD and 300D. Rid yourselves of the fetish for cheap plastic. Stop building cars for the masses. Your cars once signified class. Putting your 3-point star on the hood means nothing by itself.

Bravo Diesel
Vehicle
2006 Mercedes-Benz E-Class E320 CDI 4dr Sedan (3.2L 6cyl Turbodiesel 5A)
Review
I own both the BMW 5 series and this Mercedes 320 CDI. The Mercedes is so much more fun to drive! It has the power of a V8 yet sips fuel. The power matches the extra weight to give you the ride of a larger car. The leather seast are well made. The sound system is the best I've seen in a Mercedes ever, remember Becker? This will be a great car for many years.
Favorite Features
I love the sound of the diesel, slight but addictive
Suggested Improvements
Ask Lexus for help improving the Nav! Add 19 inch wheels, leather should be standard. The exchange rate is killing the price, give us some extras standard for purchasing a Mercedes.

Got Transmission?
Vehicle
2006 Mercedes-Benz E-Class E500 4MATIC 4dr Sedan AWD (5.0L 8cyl 5A)
Review
I am compelled to write a review on this car after a year and a half of ownership because it has been a series of non-stop transmission problems which Mercedez cannot seem to fix. I do not know if they have fixed the 2007 model but you really need to thoroughly test-drive this car and ask around. Also, the back tires needed replacement after just 20,000 miles which seemed a little too soon. This car also has a totally unusable cup holder, something you think is just a small thing but turns out to be huge for us commuters. I am thoroughly disappointed in my $70,000 purchase and wish I had stayed with a Lexus, a car I thoroughly enjoyed for ten years.
Favorite Features
Beautiful exterior design. The dynamic seat features are also fun except that they automatically turn off after a little while so on long drives, you need to keep turning them back on. Big trunk is a plus.
Suggested Improvements
As stated, this car has been a steady diet of transmission problems. The cup holder is also poorly designed.
