My CDI
Vehicle
2006 Mercedes-Benz E-Class E320 CDI 4dr Sedan (3.2L 6cyl Turbodiesel 5A)
Review
I have owned diesels since 1977, starting with a 240 d. I managed to get a used (9000miles) CDI from my local dealer last month, they imported it from Ohio, because they can't sell diesels in Calif. The car is great except for the electronics. After having the car for only 2 weeks, the battery warning light came on, and it had to go back to the dealer because of a faulty sensor. We have had the same trouble with our 99 E430. Apart from this the car is great. Its difficult to get the 27 mpg in the city though
Favorite Features
Navigation system, Harmon Kardon audio system
Suggested Improvements
Use Japanese electronic parts, 17 inch wheels should be standard
My second new turbo diesel

Review
My previous E-300 (99) was driven 87000 relatively perfect except for a ew electrical glitches and bad window carriage interior hardware. This CDI model gets better fuel mileage, is quieter and is more comfortable. All over I'd rate it a 9.8. I wish it had 4- matic, but I was told that it was not available in the CDI model. The worse single feature is the radio/cd which can't hold a candle to the system in my 1999 model. Kardon vs Bose...
Favorite Features
I really love this car. I'm retired and not wealthy, but I appreciate great cars and for my budget, this is the one. I like the electronic readouts in the speedometer. I am not really crazy not having dip sticks in the oil and tranmisssion housings. I love the overall handling of this car.
Suggested Improvements
Get rid of the tape deck system, its too prone to mishaps. Update the data in the GPS (doesn't show several areas I passeed through drving RI to FL). Add 4-matic to the CDI at a reasonable price. Keep the costs of repairs in line, especially when a car diagnoses itself and most repairs are plug in.
E320 CDI- best car owned yet

Review
Car is fully loaded with all but hands-free telephone option. The only minor complaint I have about interior is the headrest is too far forward and cannot be adjusted back at all (so far as I have figured out!) Ride is exceptionally smooth and the torque is awesome- when you put your foot down: Wheee!! The car is beautiful. Pano roof is good so far- extra light is nice. Rear seat could offer a bit more leg room at expense of trunk, IMHO (I am tall and have the seat all the way back). Good fuel economy so far. Keyless Go is wonderful. Love it all!! Just wish I had more places to go :>)
Favorite Features
-Keyless Go -Nav map -Xenons- [Brilliant light! Not sure I see the active curve illumination that is touted so highly in the brochures.] -White paint with black pinstripe -Rain sensor wipers -Stylish looks!!
Suggested Improvements
-Adjustable fore/aft position of headrests (i.e. like the tilt feature in Audi 2000 A6)- I feel like my head is pushed into a further forward position than is optimal for me. -I miss the rear window wiper of my wagon -Slightly more rear seat legroom and less trunk room would be good trade-of
E350 is beyond comparison!

2006 Mercedes-Benz E-Class E350 4dr Sedan (3.5L 6cyl 7A)
Review
It may sound cliche (and downright corney) but the new Mercedes E350 *IS* the most comfortable, well-built and safety minded car in its class. I have owned a BMW 325 and an Infinity I-class and this vehicle blows away the competition. The ride cannot be described. Quiet, fast when required and a feeling of complete safety. The vehicle is very responsive without feeling mushy like many of the Japanese competitors. Try one!
Favorite Features
The navigation/sound system are very easy to use. The sound system is excellent.
Suggested Improvements
I have a dual-glass moonroof. I would make the rear moon-roof retractable.
Transmission problems

2006 Mercedes-Benz E-Class E350 4dr Sedan (3.5L 6cyl 7A)
Review
Love the car except for the transmission. Rough downshifting. The dealer has put in tow new transmissions (three in total) and the problem persists. This is the seven speed transmission that's throughout the Mercedes line. I'd stay away until they get it right. We're giving them back our car.
Favorite Features
Styling. Seats. Dash layout. No I-Drive.
Suggested Improvements
Transmission. Make center arm rest more comfortable -- your arm rests on wood.

Best Car I've ever owned
Vehicle
2006 Mercedes-Benz E-Class E350 4dr Sedan (3.5L 6cyl 7A)
Review
This car is a pleasure to drive. Plenty of power and the the seven speed is really smooth. My wife and I fight over this car. Just pure driving enjoyment.
Favorite Features
We did not think we needed NAV - but boy do we love it now. A really nice feature that is easy to use.
Suggested Improvements
We could not find E350's with heated seats in California - that was a big problem for the wife.
Power and Comfort
Vehicle
2006 Mercedes-Benz E-Class E500 4MATIC 4dr Wagon AWD (5.0L 8cyl 5A)
Review
I recently drove this vehicle 1,000 miles in 48 hours -- arrived without the expected feeling of fatigue or weariness. Wonderful blend of power and comfort. Car feels as heavy as my previous S600 sedan but is far more agile and intuitive. Fit and finish are great but would like to see upgraded material on lower door panels, headliner and sun visors that is more appropriate to a car that listed at nearly $70K. No other complaints -- everything else about the car is first class -- especially like the airmatic suspension and Harmon Kardon sound system. A true wolf in sheep's clothing.
Favorite Features
Airmatic suspension; sound system; power lift gate; all around visibility; powerful engine response.
Suggested Improvements
More substantial fabric on lower door panels and for headliner and sun visors.
MB E350 sedan

Review
Turned back from Audi to Mercedes and I do not regret it. I was hunting for the right car for a while...I found it in this MB. It is the absolute pleaser in every possible ways. Ride, comfort, appearance are all in balance. I don't think you could go wrong with this car.
Favorite Features
Ride, performance, handling, appearance/presence, reliability, genetic authenticity carried forward with enthusiasm.
Suggested Improvements
Kicks shifting from 1st to 2nd gear...They should try to get rid of this (genetic) problem.
Great car but behind the times

Review
I love my new E350 with the sport package. Although the exterior is great, MB falls short in the interior amenities. Horrendous Nav, No bluetooth/ipod. My Lexus blows away the Benz in the interior styling
Favorite Features
All around a good vehicle
Suggested Improvements
Better fuel efficiency, update interior technology, upgrade aged Nav system.

The Chariot
Vehicle
2006 Mercedes-Benz E-Class E350 4dr Sedan (3.5L 6cyl 7A)
Review
This is my first Mercedes Benz, a car I have wanted since high school. I can honestly say it is everything I thought it would be. When you drive past people, heads turn and you get the feeling you're driving something special. My model is the E350, very similar to the E320, but I believe with a bigger engine. The luxury and comfort are something one can only experience to appreciate. My salesman told me, once you own and drive one, you will never want to own and drive any other car. He was right, (but I think I kind of already knew that.)
Favorite Features
The car itself.
Suggested Improvements
Bring back the cassette player, behind the radio. Not everyone is into cd's. Better fuel use.
