First Mercedes after a BMW 3-series
Vehicle
2006 Mercedes-Benz E-Class E350 4dr Sedan (3.5L 6cyl 7A)
Review
The Mercedes E350 wasn't my first choice for a midsize car. After driving a BMW 3-series for 6 yrs, my obvious choice was a 5-series. The 5-series design is ugly and I-drive is terrible, car was more nimble and fun to drive than an E350. Definitely a beautiful car that turns people's heads.
Favorite Features
Beautiful, moodlights at night, fast acceleration, MB star on hood :)
Suggested Improvements
Better transmission, better fuel economy, more standard features (blutooth, touch screen navi, bigger navi screen, better navi, xenon headlights, full leather seats, valet trunk locks, puddle lights (as in the 2003-2005 e class) better radio, memory seats 1 touch, digital dual zone climate control

This is our second Mercedes. Our other one is a 2006 CLS55 AMG. I bought this E500 this May with the Sports Package as well as the Apperance Package. I love the Sports package with the dual exhaust, sports suspension, and high performance tires. I live in a wealthy town, and I see Mercedes all the time. I wanted mine to be & look different and it does. I am yet to see another E500 with the Sports Package. From my understanding, not alot were made for the 2006 model.
Favorite Features
Dual exhaust, high performance tires, sports suspension, that the car can raise & lower, the look, but most of all driving it!
Suggested Improvements
There are definitely blind spots...yikes!

Review
Have owned BWM, Volkswagen, and Volvo vehicles. This MB is by far the best in terms of build qulity, ride, and engineering. This is my first diesel, so I'm hoping for a huge improvement over my current SUV (16 mpg). The design is timeless and the car feels like it will go hundreds of thousands of miles.
Favorite Features
CDI engine (power!), keyless go, bi- xenons (they light up the night!), ambient lighting, summer opening feature (windows/sunroof), electronic trunk closer, sensuous body lines, MPG, steering wheel entry/exit feature, MFD that lights up when using cruise control, jealous stares from strangers :)
Suggested Improvements
Navigation is too complex/too many buttons. Remove key chime w/keyless go. Ability to scan preset radio stations from steering wheel. Can't add MB SAT radio unless you order it from the factory :(

The best choice ever made
Vehicle
2006 Mercedes-Benz E-Class E350 4dr Sedan (3.5L 6cyl 7A)
Review
I looked at MBW, Lexus, and Infinity. However, MB E350 proved to be the better choice. Great car! It turns heads, all over. The dual moon roof is a big plus. The ability to choose between comfort or sport suspension at the click of a button makes it more appealing. The sound system is superb.
Favorite Features
Sound system, dual moon roof, and the looks of it. Gas mileage is great. Avg. 24.5 mpg, not bad.
Suggested Improvements
For the price, 18" wheels should be standard, DVD Navigation system should come with TV capability and game console connections.

This is the first Mercedes I have purchased. Safety is a must and this car has it all. Comfort is 2nd. Well built, very impressive. Don't ever make it cheap. The buyer will never come back.
Favorite Features
Seats. For anyone that likes to drive in comfort, this is great. Road handling, feel great. Night driving safety. Navigation is a real kick
Suggested Improvements
If you do not have to make it cheaper, do not do anything.
Luxurious yes, but it's no BMW

2006 Mercedes-Benz E-Class E350 4dr Wagon (3.5L 6cyl 7A)
Review
We decided we needed seating for 6-7, but didn't want an SUV. That left the E series and the Volvo V70. The E350 is beautiful, well-appointed and comfortable/luxurious. The suspension and steering, however, are softer than they should be, especially if you are used to driving a BMW with sports suspension (or even an Audi). The Volvo V70 R was sportier in power and handling, and had WAY better front seats (the most comfortable seats I have ever sat in, in fact), but was too stark/dark in the cockpit. Probably, upgrading to the E55 Wagon solves the problem, but for $35k more, that's insane. Come on Mercedes, make it handle more like a German driving machine!
Favorite Features
Rear facing third row seat and automatic power liftgate.
Suggested Improvements
Tighter steering, better road feel and stiffer suspension.

Recently drove from FL to RI and averaged 36mpg. Very quiet and very powerful. Average around town and in the city is 25. I have been running bio-diesel so it is even more ecologically minded.

Suggested Improvements
The tilt/telescope wheel should have bigger adjustment range.

Lease was up on ML500 and I wanted something with space and fuel economy. With fold down rear seat and large trunk this was the car. I have averaged right at 30mpg and it drives great. Very quiet. Much quieter than my wife's 2005 Audi A8.
Favorite Features
Diesel engine, storage space, quietness.
Suggested Improvements
Navigation system is too complicated. They should purchase a unit from Toyota or Nissan.

Having your cake and eating it too! The E-Class is the perfect highway cruiser, soaks up the bumps and smooth as butter. The diesel is phenomenal with gobs of torque off the line and still plenty of passing power from 50 to 90 mph range on the highway. Just drove this baby home 300 miles and got get this 36.8 mpg for the trip about 80% hwy and 20% city driving. Mercedes has it going on - forget hybrids diesel is fuel efficient and practical and proven for over a 100 years! Wasn't impressed with Lexus (dressed up Toyota) and BMW lacks luxury and pampering I was looking for (too spartan inside and weird looking outside) Audi came closest with A6 but alas no diesel in US yet! Drive it - Sold!
Favorite Features
Premium package goodies and Satelite radio is the Best! No flipping channels on the way home.
Suggested Improvements
Once US standards take effect for cleaner diesel by the end of this year you won't be able to tell at all you have a diesel car except for the great gas mileage. It is still the only car that feels like a bank vault to me!

This car was great from the start. The driving experience is best on the highway, as in city driving a driver might feel a bit disconnected from the road. Controls are easy to use while driving, although using my iPod proves a bit tricky to navigate through.
Favorite Features
I love this car. The panoramic sunroof is a must!
Suggested Improvements
Make the iPod integration easier to use, perhaps turning the COMMAND system into a touch screen.
