Thanks
Thanks for the input, all. I'm looking at a couple of 2005's. Once has very low miles, the other has higher miles (around 38k), but is at a Mercedes dealer and is a certified pre-owned with the extended warranty as a result. How accurate is the mileage indidcator on the dash? When I test drove the certified, it said average mileage was 22.4mpg, which seemed very odd. ... Read More...

Re: '03 E320 Wagon - a Keeper? [contrarianjim]
MB's in general are not reflective of the problems that occur on many of the 2003-4 E class. This was a new model and it was not sorted out ---particularly the electronics. That is one reason I bought a preowned 2005 E320 CDI. Have been driving MB's since 1971 and now own #'s 19 & 20. My wife has a 2007 SLK350. I state all this as my present cars and the 18 before have never ... Read More...
2009 Jaguar XF
I'm in the market for a new luxury sedan. Currently driving a 2005 Acura RL. Would prefer a sporty coupe, but my lifestyle does not allow for that yet:) Today I spoke with our local Jaguar dealer about the XF. They expect the first ones at their showroom in March or April of 2008. Since we live in the snowy part of this country I prefer a car with AWD. The salesman told ... Read More...
Re: Used vehicle choice, MB 320 CDI vs BMW 530 vs Audi A6 3.2 Quattro [briantucson]
As others have said, the maintenance and repairs for the cars you have listed could make a 10 year hold an expensive proposition. That said, I'd consider an Acura RL over the Audi A6. I own a 2004 TL 6-speed and it's quicker and more fun to drive than the RL, but not as luxurious. The RL has been a very tough sell for Acura, so good deals should be available. I enjoy driving ... Re: BMW 2008 5 Series Brochure .pdf [rayainsw]
OMG -- the picture (side/profile) on page one looks like the fraternal twin of the 2005 A6. The head on pictures now look slightly less like a Pontiac, but still the "Pontiac-popularized" slant eyed look remains. The Audi trout mouth is an acquired taste, to be sure; but, the BMW 5 still (to my eye, and for all I know, my eye alone) is, er, butt oogly. They are great ... Read More...
Re: Used diesel pricing [dave8345]
I followed used CDI prices for several months and almost a year ago I found what I wanted. Bought a 2005 with EVERYTHING on it. Have the window sticker at slightly more than $64,000. It is black/black...which I prefered and only had 3,500 miles on it. Bought for $48k.and it has been a great car. To answer yout question I paid what I did because it was EXACTLY what I wanted.I ... Used diesel pricing
I'm looking for a used 2005 or 2006 CDI. Most of the prices I've seen are close to what the price guides here at Edmunds would suggest for a Mercedes certified used E320 CDI. There's a dealer however in South Carolina that is selling a 2006 left over for $8000.00 off msrp. It's a new vehicle not used. It doesn't have much as far as option are concerned so I'm not nuts about ... Read More...

2005 ROUGH IDLE/AT TIMES
Hello there, I have a 2005 E320. It has a very sporadic issue where at idle/car in gear, usually warmed a rough idle begins, engine seems to want to stall but as soon as you give it gas/accelerate problem goes away. It has been to local Mercedes dealer where it has checked out..wondering if there are any similar problems out there???? Thanks in advance.. Read More...

Re: Narrowing the field [voxboy]
Are you looking for maximum or optimum? Are you looking at #1 as a "deal breaker" and #2 as less of a deal breaker? What does the ranking of "performance on slippery roads" have to do with the [broader] "safety" trait? I would assume if #1 was safety that your current #4 would have been your #2, that is. Again, "general performance," [I would argue] is a significant ... Read More...
