This is an awesome car. Slightly smaller than the E500 but much more nimble ... Power is abundant and the handling is crisp and smooth at the same time. Front seating is great for the taller driver ... I'm 6ft 4in and it fits perfectly. Rear passenger room is comfortable as well (a bit tight behind a tall driver) ... Haven't seen many new CLK's on the road ... especially the CLK 500's which is why people stare ... Love the way when both windows are down, it creates a very open feeling in the car (almost like a convertible) ... Build quality is much better than the E, C, ML classes (even the material is better like in the CL and S classes).
Favorite Features
Open window design ... sleek syling ... high production values ... limited production vehicle ... POWER POWER POWER
Suggested Improvements
Lighting package come standard ... (especially at these prices) ... optional tail be easier to purchase and install ... power rear seat access (like the Infiniti G35 coupe)
Nice car, a few quirks

Clk-320 is a great car, fun to drive. A little snug and low, but so are most sports cars. Don't like cup holder. Have blown two tires in 5 months, how?/why? Very smooth ride, quick. Excellent audio. Can't stand air system, too loud when on high, which is all the time in the summer if you want to be cool. Mercedes telecom system stinks compared w/ GMC OnStar. Cheep tire jack. No satellite radio. Love the car, but a tad disappointed.

I bought my CLK 500 two weeks ago and it has bought back the fun in driving. It has been 10 years since I last bought a Mercedes and I don't know what I was thinking. Drives great, looks great, feels great in town and on the open road. Great Car.

Picked up the 2004 Designo model CLK 500 Cabriolet. Best vehicle I've had the pleasure of driving. Smooth ride, amazing acceleration power (clocked it at 0 to 80 (not 60) in 7.2 seconds. THAT'S smokin'. The design of the "designo" model is second to none. I must admit I feel guilty getting into this vehicle. So I went and sponsored a child at Feed the Children. Really!
Favorite Features
Ride, handling, hands free voice activated phone system, sound system when playing CD's (great bass response. understand). Ergonomically perfect: all necessary controls built into steering wheel. Automatic soft top a "breeze." Very quiet!
Suggested Improvements
One complaint: Seat belts "flap" when the top is down. Come on fellas. You tellin' me you didn't figure this one out before you rolled this honey out to the world?
Wonderful!

This car brings back the joy in everyday life. It is sporty but luxurious. The ride is smooth, the sound system is rich and clear. The V8 engine is quiet and yet strong. The seats and in interior are comfortable with plenty of comfortable room for 4. The convertible tob is lined giving a quiet ride when the top is on. it makes any trip out a pleasure.

having traded up from the audi A4, I have been absolutely thrilled with my CLK 320. I love the style, love the way it feels when i get into it and hear the solid thud of the door closing, and the performance has been a pleasure. I've also loved the extras: the way the seats push up to let someone climb easily into the back, the trip computer, the rear mirrors automatically dimming, the automatic sensor in the windshield wipers... to name a few! Drawbacks so far? (just under 10,000 miles)The analog clock loses time, and the rear windows stopped working. My first check-up at 10,000 miles will keep them busy, but I wouldn't trade this car for anything.
Favorite Features
electronic seat adjustments (buttons in the shape of a seat); the way it handles; auto dimming mirrors
Suggested Improvements
Add another cupholder (there's only one) in the front seat; simplify the CD loader; allow the front seats to go back further

Review
The CLK500 is really in a class of its own. It more luxurious and comfortable that the 3 series and it is not seen at every corner or around every block. It doesn't punish the driver over rough road yet it is able to still provide an adrenaline rush when you push down on the accelerator firmly. Also insofar as styling I believe it looks authoritative without looking overly designed or gimmicky. The seats are very comfortable, the climate control is easy to operate and the sound system is really rather pleasant sounding. The low tone exhaust system reminds you in an non-intrusive way that a muscular V8 is awaiting your need for speed.

A bit better gas mileage would be a good thing - - in seems that Jaguar is able to product a V8 of similar power with no gas guzzler penalty. But in the long run engine reliability and performance would prove more imporant to me that fuel savings.
