Review

Bought the car used with 104K miles for my kid as I wanted her in a mini tank, along with traction and stab control, side airbags, etc. Just my luck, had to fix almost everything - brakes, rear deck leak, amplifiers, blown speakers, rear antenna, ball joints, dashboard digital metrics (outside temp, gear display, etc) shot, intermit wiper, etc. I think it also just sprung a leak somewhere up front on the passenger side, and I think I just lost the driver rear wheel bearings. I've owned late model American and Asian based cars that never experienced as many problems as this little gem? Also - Bose radio sounds like crud, lots of static.

Favorite Features

Been a while since owning a rear wheel pusher. Car handles well, has pretty good pick up even with 106K miles on it and a v6, gets OK mileage at around 23 mpg average.

I think the car is over engineered.

Review

I have owned a LOT of cars (3 Mercedes) and this is my favorite out of all of them. I love the styling; it seems timeless. Exterior proportions are perfect, and quality is excellent. The interior is laid out perfectly, and the workmanship is Mercedes (i.e. the very best.) Handling is excellent, though a little heavy at low speeds. This car loves high speed cruising. The engine is super. Transmission is the best I have ever driven. Brakes & suspension are very good. Amazing sound system. So far, I have no unexpected maintenance issues (130K miles), but I am using a very small amount of oil. Not uncommon for mileage. Fuel consumption amazing: 31mpg highway, 26-27 average. Zero complaints.

Favorite Features

The look of the car. The comfort of the interior. Full size seats! The sound of the engine.

None for the car. Lots of suggestions for the Mercedes dealerships!!!

Review

I'll never need another car. I've had this car for years, and never thought I'd like any car this much. I look at other cars, and aside from the CLK55, there is nothing else interesting, including the new body style with the flattened out belt line! Mine just turned over 120k (100k under my foot) and still runs like the day I bought it. I've never babied it, and it consistently performs. Mine's magma red, and when my friends call me snooty, I just tell them it's a Camaro SS for the over 40 set. They're just jealous. You should buy one, too!

Favorite Features

Color, great performance, 23 mpg average. Best feature: even my wife likes it!

Suggested Improvements

Traction control (ESP) could be more enthusiast-oriented. Turning it off lights up an annoying indicator, and maybe it's coincidence, but I often get ABS error lights afterwards. They go off by themselves, but sometimes I feel like its computer's programed to discourage performance driving.

Review

I feel very safe in the CLK320. I've owned the car for 5 years and have approx 63,000 kms on it. My family of three fits well in the car. I am 6'2" and I have my seat all the way back, which makes it easy to reach back and put my young daughter's seatbelt on. As she grows into her teens, we will probably go to the S class sedan.

Favorite Features

The steering wheel mounted controls are very user friendly and effortless to use.

This is an outstanding car. I've had no problems with it. The ride is so smooth that I find myself constatly having to check the speedometer to see just how fast I'm going due to being blown away by the smooth ride. For a 2000 model, it's awesome!

Favorite Features

My favorite feature is the quickness and power of this car. Also the ABS breaking system, which I found out works great when another driver on Interstate 65 South decided to suddenly make a U-turn while I was behind him.

Suggested Improvements

Most improvements have already been made in the newer models. Maybe one day I can upgrade.

Love This Car

I bought this car with 2500 miles on it back in summer of 2000. I put on another 26000 miles the past two summers. The car is a classic. Mine came loaded with nav, orthopoedic seats, xenons and cd changer. It rides like a dream. The brakes are the best of any car I have ever owned. Stopping from 60-0 seems to take place in about 105 feet. It eats front tires in about 16k miles. Gas mileage comes in about 18-21. Its pretty peppy, 0-60 in 7.4+. Engine has a nice growl when accelerating. Taking down the top is easy but not one touch. Sound system could be better, but is adequate. Doesn't matter when you're doing triple digits with the top down.

Favorite Features

Speed, convertible, nice computer, great nav system, comfortable seats, short turning radius and incredible brakes.

Suggested Improvements

Better sound system, get rid of cheap vinyl in interior.

This is my third Mercedes - I've been driving them for 20 years. This car is a dream to drive and a real head turner. It odesn't get much better than this!

Review

Still gets praise for its beauty whenever its getting gas or valet parked. Only complaint is the occasional over bumps' squeaks, coming from I suspect the convertible top and how it locks onto the frame (my wife insists the noise is from the dashboard). The car is still a dream and even my most obese non front seat passenger doesn't complain about room in the back . In fact it can take two not so big people fairly comfortably in the rear seat.

Favorite Features

Its up to date beauty and ability to leave like a rocket when it has to be floor boarded.

Suggested Improvements

If only the top would go up and down more quickly and there was more trunk room when the top is down. Also, need better and bigger cup holders (recommend imitating the front dash cup holders on my wife'a 2002 Mercedes ML 320 SUV.
