EXCELLENT CROSSOVER
Vehicle
2008 Hyundai Veracruz Limited 4dr SUV (3.8L 6cyl 6A)
Review
We love this car. We debated a lot on which crossover to purchase, and finally decided that the VC was the best deal. We couldn't get any other car with all the features we wanted for this price. The dealership even added the Parrot bluetooth system, which is really convenient. Fuel economy is probably its greatest weakness, averaging about 20mpg, but still is comparable to its competitors. Other cool features, the rear view mirrors tilt down when you're in reverse so you can see how close you are to the curb (can turn this feature off as well). Seats are pretty comfy, even the third row where we've had a few adult passengers have a comfortable ride. We love the power liftgate.
Favorite Features
Power liftgate, blue lighting panel, automatic headlights, nice sound system, smart key, easy to set-up 3rd row seating (folds flat into floor), memory seating, adjustable pedals, automatic windshield wipers, dimming rearview mirror, Shiftronic system, Navigation system, can go on and on...
Suggested Improvements
I would have liked more choice in exterior color. Front row cupholders are a bit awkward, would have like them to be a little more upfront.

1 Year Down and Loving it
Vehicle
2008 Hyundai Veracruz Limited 4dr SUV (3.8L 6cyl 6A)
Review
Today completes my first year of ownership. After nearly 16,000 miles I like it more every day. First thing I added was a trailer hitch. I towed my boat over the Cascade Mountains this past June with no issues and regular lowland towing is a breeze. Plenty of power, torque, and the suspension is satisfactory for towing. This vehicle is stout but still drives like a car. The ride is smooth and quiet and the handling is too. I recently did some dirt road driving on logging roads in Oregon and I hardly noticed the lack of pavement. It handles seven normal sized adult passengers comfortably or just me and all my gear with room to spare.
Favorite Features
Proximity key system, power liftgate, XM radio, basic interior styling (I don't like a cluttered or overdone interior), adjustable everything, size and footprint (not too big, not too small), reliability so far, smooth ride and quiet cabin, smooth quiet & responsive brakes
Suggested Improvements
Transmission a little lurchy at slow speeds, better (more) cupholders, improved gas mileage, improved front seat adjustment settings, better mid- range light coverage with high beam headlights (there is a blackout area across the middle); keeping an eye on the valve noise which is increasing now

Electrical problems
Vehicle
2008 Hyundai Veracruz Limited 4dr SUV (3.8L 6cyl 6A)
Review
I researched this vehicle before buying and found that all but one were great ratings. The one bad stated that he had electrical problems from the very beginning. Well, I am the second. After only 10 months, the alarm would trigger when ever I unlocked and opened the door. They replaced a circuit card. Then, the steering wheel would not tilt. They replaced the switch twice and then the steering column. Then it would not tilt nor telescope so they replaced a circuit card. Three weeks later, it's doing it again. The DVD volume is much louder than the radio and they can't fix it. The fan under the hood is very loud sometimes. I am getting lots of rattles and wind noise now.
Favorite Features
Memory seats/mirrors, etc... DVD player, if they could fix the volume.
Suggested Improvements
Fix the DVD sound to be equal to the radio. When my son pops out his DVD, the radio is so loud that I think it's going to blow the speakers.

After 1 year
Vehicle
2008 Hyundai Veracruz Limited 4dr SUV AWD (3.8L 6cyl 6A)
Review
Have had the Veracruz for 1 year and am still very pleased. No issues other than one minor recall. Very comfortable, very peppy. Nice fit and finish. Hyundai has come a long way.
Favorite Features
Dash/radio layout. Electric liftgate. Auto wipers.
Suggested Improvements
Rear suspension "clunk" when going over large bumps. Poor gas mileage is the penalty for strong engine.

Nice vehicle. The wife has a bad back and the lumbar support is helpful. Too bad the MPG city is not better.
Favorite Features
good leg room (I'm 6'3", 35" inseam); XM availability (never had it before)
Suggested Improvements
Put color coordinated body side molding on this suv for Pete's sake! It is really needed, and I would gladly pay the extra $200, to prevent dings

Still a Great Value! Still a Nice Ride!
Vehicle
2008 Hyundai Veracruz Limited 4dr SUV (3.8L 6cyl 6A)
Review
I wrote a review in October 2007 after owning the Veracruz for 2 weeks. After having owned for a year now I am pleased to report that I am as happy with the Veracruz today as then. Not a single thing has needed to be fixed. Everything has worked perfectly from Day 1 and continues to be a joy to drive...city and highway. My wife is even more pleased with the Veracruz as she drives it more than I do.
Favorite Features
Sound system, dual temp controls, power lift gate, smart key, rear entertainment package, interior and exterior design, back up warning, smooth and quiet ride, 115V rear outlet, 3rd row seating, puddle lighting, cool blue interior lighting, xm radio, many storage compartments, auto on wipers.
Suggested Improvements
The Limited has it all. Can not think of anything that is missing.

Good Bang for Your Buck!
Vehicle
2008 Hyundai Veracruz Limited 4dr SUV (3.8L 6cyl 6A)
Review
We love our new Veracruz!! We've done a lot of research on crossover vehicles, and test drove several cars before deciding on the VC. It's super comfortable and has so many extras that the competitors charge much more for. This is a great vehicle for the money!
Favorite Features
Hyundai did a great job in designing this vehicle. We really like the blue tooth, built-in XM radio, dual climate control, seat comfort, power lift back gate and keyless entry! The number one thing we like is it is fun to drive!
Suggested Improvements
There is nothing glaring that needs improvement, but if we're being picky the steering seems a little loose after test driving a few competitors. Other than that, we don't have a single complaint. As we said before, it's a great car for the money! We highly recommend it to anyone.

Totally Amazed
Vehicle
2008 Hyundai Veracruz Limited 4dr SUV (3.8L 6cyl 6A)
Review
After months of research, I chose the Veracruz and love it! This SUV is extremely quiet, has plenty of horsepower and is a pleasure to drive. The power lift gate is the bomb having kids and the third row seats come in handy when carrying the neighbors kids along. Great job Hyundai - keep up the great work! I'd definitely buy another one!
Favorite Features
Power lift gate, stereo ROCKS, interior fit and finish, saddle brown leather interior, keyless operation and quiet ride.
Suggested Improvements
Power pop-out rear windows (like the minivans), rear window should open separately, MP3 player capability,
