I have a 2003 Elantra with a manual tranny. The original clutch lasted about 85K miles. The second clutch lasted 4 days. The third clutch lasted a month. I used to own a 2003 Elantra, but I couldn't see myself buying a minor upgrade to the 2008 model when I needed to get a new vehicle. Besides some CVVT modifications and fuel economy improvements, the powertrain of the elantra has been the same for too many years. Even the touring isn't getting the new theta-II engine. You must have a special warranty. To my knowledge, service rental cars are not included in the standard Hyundai warranty. That is at the discretion of the dealership--some provide them, some don't. Also, did you purchase the car after June 2003? Otherwise the bumper-to-bumper warranty would have expired, and brake components would not be covered. Read More...

I would recommend you to test drive one yourself, because it's all about preferences and what works for us may not work for another one. It looks like the car was stolen from the original owner. This morning I spoke with a lady that told me she had a 2003 that had 14K miles on it she had purchased through a dealer that bought it from an insurance company and the Hyundai dealer told them they would honor the factory warranty.
