2008 Honda Pilot Road Test Ratings

Handling isn't anything to write home about, but that's not unusual for an SUV. The Pilot excels with its simple Honda ergonomics and flexible package, the areas most drivers are concerned about while shopping for a family vehicle.

Steers OK, but it feels heavy in corners. Engine performance is adequate for the class.

Rides quite well, soft, yet not floaty. Tire noise can be intrusive.

Controls are typical Honda, intuitive and easy to use. Many storage bins are placed throughout the cabin. The third row seat is kids-only small, and eats up most of the cargo space when in use. Once its folded flat into the floor, there is plenty of room for stuff.

Styling is a bit bland, but build quality is very good.
