Ford Mustang Prices Paid and Buying Experience

Re: 2008 V6 Prem Mustang Coupe [kidpoboy]

My thoughts......a Roush Stage 3 Vert is the most over priced car in the world thanks to the GT-500. Ford destroyed these after-market cars when the launched the GT-500. Folks are starting to buy these closer to closer to sticker every day, which makes paying $57k for a Roush insane. You sir, should write a letter to Ford thanking them for the GT-500. So, I think ... Re: 2004 Ford Mustang GT suspension [edickerson]

I replaced mine at about 60k and 60 - 70k seems to be about the right time. You will notice a huge difference when you replace them. There are also tons of options out there depending on what you are looking for. Read More...

2004 Ford Mustang GT suspension

I have about 70,000 miles on my GT and am curious about when the shocks/struts should be replaced? I would like to replace with better than OEM if available. Any suggested brands and ballpark figure on cost? Thanks ... Read More...

Re: 2004 Mustang Head Lights [maryaw]

Sorry, this is my biggest pet peeve (followed closely by spelling "brake" as "break"). First, you take up other people's time to answer a question that you could have easily found yourself. Second - it would take all of 3 or 4 minutes to look this up in the OM rather than waiting hours or days for someone to answer it. And since the OMs are now online ( https://www.fleet.ford.com/maintenance/owners_manuals/default.asp ... Read More...

2007 Ford Shelby Cobra GT500

Re: Visited a dealer [advequityguy]

FYI - Ford and SVT produced less than 27k Mustang Cobras in the 4 model years 2001 thru 2004 (thats less than 6700 units per year). So I guess these cars were also "Limited Production". The fact is, these cars are demanding MSRP+ADM because of the Shelby name. Nothing more. Nothing less. And the folks who are actually PAYING $15-25k over MSRP now are doing it JUST ... Read More...

Pontiac Grand Prix vs. Ford Mustang

Re: Mustang gt vs. gxp [gxpjoeyp]

That really surprises me, However I'm glad to hear the good news. I do know for a fact, that it will out run a Ford Crown Vic with a Police interceptor (not counting motorola) just the car itself. It is a 2004 vs. gxp 06. I know do to having to drive one at work. Ford will generally top out at 140 as the Gxp is said to have topped out at 152 (according to a forum page on grandprix.net. ... 2007 Ford Shelby Cobra GT500

Re: Ford now? [sssst]

Yes they did. I really liked the last Mustang Cobra, 2003-2004. The SVT Lightning was a beauty as well. I've been reading a lot here about dealers charging stupid money over MSRP for this car. I am affiliated with a Ford dealer (I work for a Mazda dealer) and I asked the GSM there, and he said they have not set an asking price yet. I'm guessing it will be over sticker, ... Read More...

Re: Paying over MSRP [starboardside]

On a 2004 GT Convertible that stickered at $31,500 the margin was only $2,000. I just looked up a 2006 GT Convertible that stickers at $34,855. Invoice $32,171. That's only a $2,684 margin. I suspect the Shelby won't have much more margin than that. As far as waiting until they are sitting on the lots, good luck! This isn't like buying a Cobra. The Cobra was built ... Read More...

Re: 2004 Mustang Driveability problems [tina1994]

I have a 2001 V-6 that is starting to idle at 2,200 rpms. It will go down to a more nomal rpm after some time and then idle fast again. I took to a very good mechanic and he said that he did not know what to do to fix it. He recommended that we take it to a Ford dealership for repair. Read More...

Ford Mustang (2005 & newer) Problems and Solutions

Re: To mimiata [cobragt]

Yes indeed, the 350Z has had some problems, such as the excessive tire wear problem the first couple of years. Consumer Reports states that the reliability of the V8 is average, but the V6 is below average. Any clue as to what they are referring to? I was thinking of possibly getting a V6 some day, and the 4.0 is an old tried and true engine used in the Explorer, unless ... Read More...
