We use this van for travel to Columbus at least twice/month. Also travel with 4 to 6 friends to the casinos twice to four times monthly. All comment on ride and comfort. Full compliment of riders allows for 23.3mpg. Average use is about 2500+ miles/month. Am looking foward to new model in fall of 2007. I'm sure we will get another trouble free year and a half on this van.
Favorite Features
Ride, interior design, storage, overhead displays, on board garage door opener
Suggested Improvements
Needs windshield defroster, which I had on my preivious Caravan, and is needed in our weather locale.

Great Van BUT...
Vehicle
2004 Dodge Grand Caravan SXT Anniversary Edition Fwd 4dr Ext Minivan (3.8L 6cyl 4A)
Review
I really love this van and until two months ago would have recommended it to anyone. My van is the ultimate road-trip vehicle but in two months, has been in the dealership for repairs to the ENGINE twice! I think for the money its a great vehicle, even though it doesn't have as much interior room as the new Hondas and Toyotas but I'm wondering how long its going to last. As a high mileage driver, I'm feeling like it isn't made well enough to stand up to the pressure. Also, Dodge could have used decent quality trim materials inside but again, for the price its a fantastic van. Still worried about the engine and its "issues".
Favorite Features
The DVD player, ergonomics of the driver's seat, power doors and liftgate.
Suggested Improvements
Upgraded interior trim materials instead of cheap plastic and nicer leather on the seats.

I am very pleased to date with our Caravan. The DVD system with the remote headphones is a blessing on long drives. Had one problem with the driver's side window, dealership replaced a voltage regulator. Gas mileage is not quite getting what I had hoped, about 17-19 MPG.
Favorite Features
DVD system, sound system, info controller

Great price, but not such a great van

I traded a Chevy Venture for the Grand caravan. The mileage has been way below what Chrysler quotes. We have had numerous problems with the A/C, although they cannot duplicate the problem. The pick up isn't the greatest, especially up hills. It is great on the highway, smooth and comfy. I probably will not buy another.
Favorite Features
I like the bucket seats all around, although the Chevy they each moved up and back allowing for long legged passengers. I miss door pockets and double seat pockets. The rollers on the seats are great to remove them. I like the passenger and driver can choose their own temperature setting.
Suggested Improvements
Washer fluid on rear window "puddles" instead of spraying on window. The release lever on the seats is hard to release. The cup colders are cheap, but I noticed they improved in "05. Window and lock buttons would be easier if on the door armrest instead of the door panel. Cargo net would be great.
Our second Dodge van

Review
Bought with 14800 miles on the odometer and since have driven it 2000 miles. It rides and outperforms the 98 Grand Caravan that we had traded in. This is one of the one of the most user friendly vehicles on the road. We had great luck with our old one for 5 years and 122,000 miles and expect the same from our 2004 model.
Favorite Features
The utility is wonderful. My wife is an artist and we have room for all her easels and supplies plus canvases with room left over.
Suggested Improvements
None.
My Thoughts

I currently have a 2004 model. This is my second Dodge Caravan. The first was a 1999 which performed very well. When I traded it in on the current one it had 69000 miles. The only problem I had with it was the emergency brake unit which had to be replaced at around 20000 miles, it was covered by the warrenty. The main reason I traded was the great financial deals they were offering at the time. I did upgrade to a larger V6 engine. There is a big difference in performance. I also added the power sliding doors, great.
Favorite Features
The visability and the ride is great. The arrangement of the dash is very good. The engineering of the interier details are very good.
Suggested Improvements
The only thing I can think of is the location of the powwer outlet. In my 1999 it was in the rear of the rear wheel well cover. On the 2004 it was mover the the front of the rear wheel well cover. On trips I use a cooling chest which I plug in.

We just recently bought our van used and we are so much enjoying it. The ride is so smooth unlike you think for a minivan. This is my first minivan to own and I will probably own another one when the time comes. So easy to get kids in and out of the back! I love that is is very spacious. We can't wait to take it on a long road trip.
Favorite Features
I love the rear air control, the double sliding back doors, and just the overall comfort of this van!
Suggested Improvements
The only thing I would have to say here is maybe it could be a little less noisey. Other then that no complaints this far.

I have driven this van from Phoenix to LA, Vegas severial times, I have never been tired when I got to where I was going, when I made the same trip with a car I was always tired, almost like jet lag. I do feel that this van is very comfortable, and most of all I do feel safe in it. This is my second new one.
Favorite Features
Being a little higher than most cars, and the smooth drive.
Suggested Improvements
Woops can't think of any.

Prior to this vehicle I had a 2001 Lincoln, Touring Sedan, Town Car. The Dodge Grand Carvan is far superior in all categories, leg room, passenger comfort, ride and driving. I now have two of these vehicles and love them. Over the years I have had numerous Lincolns and Cadillacs and with their downsizing since 1998 have made them unacceptable for my use. This Dodge fills the desires of a good size, comfortable, safe, fun to drive vehicle for me and my family.
Favorite Features
Ride and driving comfort. Convient conversion to large cargo space, reliability and dealer service.
Suggested Improvements
Better gas milage.

This has been a like riding on air. The drive and handling is so smooth. Would like some extra oomph in hard excelleration, (but its a minivan) and have had fit and finnish problems. Had to take it to the overstaffed dealer to replace a weather strip on the top after a week. The dealer sent me to a bodyshop which looked at the strip that came off, and called the DEALER to order the part which would take 2 wks to arrive (we didnt get to pick the part up. The piece eventualy drove us mad so a more helpful service man stuck some doulble sided tape on and fixed the problem.....
Favorite Features
The stereo is very good, and the seats are just ungodly comfy. The three zone climate control is a great feature.
Suggested Improvements
This car has fit and finnish problems, the 05 is definitly a better value (learning to hate the akward removable seats)
