What We Know
GM claimed that the 2009 CTS-V would be one of the fastest sedans in the world and it looks as though it was not an empty promise. Not a surprise really as its 6.2-liter supercharged V8 produces 556 horsepower and 551 pound-feet of torque. When tested against the clock, the CTS-V can go from zero to 60 mph in just 4.0seconds when equipped with the six-speed automatic and crossing the quarter-mile mark in 12.4 seconds flat at 115mph. Equipped with the six-speed automatic transmission, the CTS-V is electronically limited to 175 mph, while the six-speed manual will allow drivers to reach 191 mph. Stopping power is provided by Brembo brakes: 14.6 inches with six-piston calipers in the front and 14.3 inches with four piston calipers in the rear, good enough to stop the CTS-V in under 110 feet.
