BMW X5 Prices Paid and Buying Experience

Re: 08 X5 4.8 in Mass [summer77]

A walk out price (before sales tax but after any fees) of $500 below invoice is definitely "doable" on 2008 X5s. Plus you can get .9% financing for 5 years which equates to another $3-4k discount. My guess is that this deal will not last too long as BMW has announced production cuts in 09. Given that this is the model year end, in some extreme circustances (i.e. a car ... Read More...

Engine Oil for 08 X5: 5W-30 vs 0W-40

Hi All - The engine oil level on my 2008 X5 4.8 is low and I've read that BMW prefers Castrol. A search in the BMW manual and online showed SAE grade 5W-30 is preferred and/or approved. But when I got to the auto shop the attendants said that 5W-30 may not be thin enough for 08 X5 and suggested 0W-40. Which do I go with? There's 7928 miles on the car and I'll be adding another ... 2008 X5 3.0i sport package vs premium package

I welcome anyone's thoughts and opinions about which package I should go with. I seems like dealer's lots have units that contain more optional packages than I care or want to have. If I decide on either one of the mentioned package ONLY, will I get resistance from salesman? Thanks in advance. I like the Bluetooth wireless option with the BMW Assist. Any opinion ... X5 lease

I'm just checking out the X5 so I have no specific vehcile in sight but I don't see any recent postings about 24 months so here goes. 2008 X5 3.0i 24 Month Lease at 10k/yr. Returning BMW FS customer Money Factor? Residual? Also, on my current lease I paid the entire lease up front and never really got a sense of how much that saved me (if any). With BMW, what are the advantages ... Read More...

Re: June Money Factors and Residuals? [hachee2001]

I sure do, hachee2001. BMW Financial Services' new June buy rate lease money factor and residual value for a 36 month lease of a 2008 BMW X5 3.0 with 10,000 miles per year are .00240 and 56%, respectively. The $1,595 dealer credit for a free Premium Package is still available on this truck. Car_man Host Prices Paid: Buying & Leasing Experiences Forum Read More...

Re: Just ordered 2008 X5 3.0!!! [greg75]

Since the BMW dealership in Hawaii has a captive market, I doubt they'd agree to do a courtesy delivery for another dealer. I'm not sure you can pull it off, but if you were to do it, you'd be better off shopping for the car in California and having them ship it to the island..the shipping charges would be much less from there. If you can save $3000 or so, then it might ... Read More...

Re: Just ordered 2008 X5 3.0!!! [rezf]

Thanks Rezf. May I ask for a little more advice? I currently live in Baltimore, MD but am moving to Honolulu, HI in 30 days. There is only one BMW dealership in Hawaii, and therefore, I'm worried about not getting a reasonable deal if I wait to buy an X5 in Hawaii. In Maryland, I've started talking with several of the dozen local dealerships. Is it possible for me to ... Read More...

BMW X5 Lease Questions

Re: Question for a new Lease [mets86]

The tire option could be something to think about. Since the X5 has run flats the cost of replacing a tire can be very expensive. I took the tire policy on my 2008 X5 because I was told it not only covered the tires but also the rims. Considering the high cost of the rims and the high cost of the tires if you have to replace one of each during your lease it would probably pay ... Read More...

Re: Just ordered 2008 X5 3.0!!! [topgun26]

All, I have been told from my sources that Ffor cars purchased or leased from 5/9/08-6/30/08 BMW is offering a cash back, which your dealer may not be willing to share with you. The program is called "Option Credit" and basically BMWNA will reimburse the equivalent price of the Premium Package on the X5 at the time of purchase. This translates to $2505 off on the ...
