Buying a Used 3-Series

Re: 325ci 2006 [nh07fan]

"There is a ton of brake dust-although it just came off easily" I'm surprised the following product is not known by all... There is an aluminum plate set that simply fits inside each wheel. Its sold in pairs or in 4's. There are a number of vents in the plates allowing for air to pass in a specific direction preventing the brake dust to settle on the outside of the wheels! ... Re: re 335 xi 8800 miles fuel pump problem [superdog]

I got a bmw so I didn't have to go in and out of the shop... this sucks! It does suck, but you'd better get used to it. The only thing that kept me under the allowed mileage on the lease was all the days my 2006 330i sedan was off the road due to spending time in the shop. BMWs are not Hondas when it comes to reliability. In addition to a BMW, I currently have two Hondas in my family. ... Read More...

Re: 325ci 2006 [nh07fan]

Comments on your comments: 1) Keep after the brake dust, if you don't it will become almost permanently adhered to your wheels. If you have no intention of tracking your car you might want to consider low dust pads. I've used PBR/Axxis pads on my BMWs and have had exceptional results (i.e. braking power similar to the OEM pads and virtually no dust). 2) The beauty ... Read More...

Re: 325ci 2006 [nh07fan]

Sounds like a great deal! What part of the country do you live? Out here in the northeast (New Jersey), a 2006 325i CPO with under 20k mileage will never sell south of 25K - trust me - i've been searching for 6 weeks!! I've owned 2 BMWs -1994 325i and 1997 540i - at 10,000 miles, the car hasnt even been broken in!! I have found a 06 325i (would have preferred a 330) 27K mileage, ... Read More...

2006 325i - known problems for year/model?

I'm buying a 2006 325i, 28k? miles - CPO from new jersey BMW dealer. Car drove quite well - tight, firm suspension, good pick up decent acceleration. I've had 2 BMWs - 1994 325i and 1997 540i. Both were my first BMWs and first new sports cars - and I fell in love! Over the last 14 years I've had the pleasure to garage a number of fine cars - 1998 Porsche Carerra, MB SL 500, ... 325ci 2006

We agree to our 1st BMW-have wanted 1 for a long time. It's a 3rd car for when my wife doesn't need to drive her all-wheel drive Sienna minivan and I'm not using my Accord for work (outside sales). Anyway I think we did well to find a 2006 325ci Black with 10,500 miles for $23,500 CPO Only 2 options are heated seats and Steptronic Automatic The search really evolved..........we ... BMW 3-Series Run Flat Tires

Re: 2006 BMW 325xi with Bridgestone Run Flat [hoppysheba]

I have the exact same car and tires as yours, and am surprised that you got 30,000 miles from those tires. My 328i sport has about 18k miles now, and I would be lucky if I can drag on for another 3k miles. Just checked TireRack, and found the Conti RFT rear tires still on back order. My problem is that my car is leased , so I cannot have two brands of tires when the lease is ... Read More...

BMW 3-Series Prices Paid and Buying Experience

2006 3 series...any differences?

I'm looking to purchase a 2006 CPO 3 series in New Jersey. I would appreciate outlining the differences between riding characteristics of the 325 and 330, rear wheel and all wheel. Is there an appreciative power sag with the 325? Is the 'x" a bit flat off the line and around corners? Is the all wheel a MUST in snow or is the rear wheel fine with good tires? I've owned ... Re: HELP w/2009 335i convertible European Delivery [smayence]

Read this wiki on ED - yes, I've ordered a BMW via ED (paid 35.7k for a 42k 330i in 2006): http://www.bimmerfest.com/wiki/index.php/ED_Order You should never pay the ED listed price from BMW's site. Read More...

Re: BMW 2007 328i vs 2006 330i [munu]

Did you pull the trigger on this one? I am looking at an 07 328i coupe, manual trans for just under $32k and can't decide. It is not at a BMW dealer, but place that specializes in used European imports (plus they have a Mazda franchise). Car is in immaculate condition. They tried some high-pressure sales with me, so I walked. So far they are the only ones anywhere near ... Read More...
